DETROIT, MICHIGAN, October 24, 2014—
The American Red Cross, Southeastern Michigan Region and Evans Distribution Systems jointly announced today a new partnership. Evans Distribution Systems’ facility in Melvindale is the new warehouse facility for the Red Cross’ Disaster Services (DS) and Services to the Armed Forces (SAF)
resources in support to the community. Evans Distribution Systems is providing storage, handling, order processing and labor costs as an in-kind contribution to the American Red Cross under a new contract that begins in October.
American Red Cross-Michigan Regional COO La Forice Nealy noted the significance of this new relationship for the agency. “When businesses with the significant expertise of Evans Distribution Systems step up to help our disaster response and support services to our community and the armed forces, everyone benefits. As an 85 year old Detroit-based company, we are confident that they understand the importance of high quality care for our resources and our need for responsiveness to the metro Detroit area and the seven counties we serve.”
“We are excited about our new partnership with American Red Cross. Our entire team is looking forward to applying our 85 years of experience in logistics to support the amazing work they do for our community,” said Vice President of Business Development Leslie Ajlouny.
The partnership between the Red Cross and Evans Distribution Systems begins at the end of October.
