Evans Distribution Systems Adopts Trimble TMW.Suite TMS to Enhance Transportation Solutions

MELVINDALE, Mich., FEBRUARY 24, 2025 —Evans Distribution Systems, a leading provider of third-party logistics and supply chain solutions, has invested in a new transportation management software (TMS) to streamline operations with a data-driven system that is fully customizable to fit unique requirements from a variety of customers.

As an asset-based and non-asset-based transportation provider, Evans needed a flexible transportation management solution to provide best-in-class solutions to an evolving customer profile. The Trimble® TMW.Suite™ TMS addressed the technical requirements that Evans set forth including integration capabilities, real-time reporting, digital documentation, route optimization and customer visibility.

“Evans provides a diverse range of services including LTL, specialized equipment, truckload, expedites; our services are tailored to the customer,” says Anthony Trocki, vice president of transportation at Evans Distribution. “We needed a customizable system that could handle this range of services.”

“After working closely with Evans Distribution, we quickly identified key pain points in their logistics operations,” said Shane Gardner, regional sales manager, Trimble Transportation. “They have a wide range of customers, each with their own warehousing and distribution needs. Evans needed something that was both robust and flexible to handle the various services they provide to customers—and they found that solution in Trimble TMW.Suite.”

Among many benefits that Trimble’s TMW.Suite brings, Evans is most looking forward to full integration with other internal systems including accounting, labor management, dash cameras, and its proprietary business intelligence tool known as evans365. The evans365 data portal will now allow warehousing and transportation customers to build personal dashboards and track shipments from dock to delivery. “It creates a new level of transparency across multiple channels that my team and our customers didn’t have access to,” Trocki says.

Evans’ drivers and dispatch teams have already begun to experience the difference of the new system in a few short months. Drivers are self-dispatching with optimized routing and bill of landing documentation capabilities, reducing delivery and accounting errors. Team members have built dozens of custom reports for internal use and to help customers to make informed business decisions.

“The TMS is allowing our team to improve processes,” Trocki says. “We are much more proactive than reactive these days.” As a result of improved operational efficiency, management has relocated assets and people into different roles to increase productivity and service levels for drivers and customers.
